Core Training

All staff undertake safeguarding training which follows statutory guidelines and procedures. TRMAT runs safeguarding training at The Roseland Academy for schools across The Roseland Network and liaises with each school on a termly basis. All staff access all the statutory safeguarding training.

Our safeguarding training programme includes:

  • Updates from Serious Case Reviews
  • Child Sexual Exploitation
  • Incel
  • Child Protection Guidelines
  • Reporting, storing information and use of ‘My Concern’
  • Internet safety, social media
  • Local support and partner agencies
  • Peer on peer abuse
  • Sexting and other
To maintain a high level of safety and welfare for all our young people and staff, we use the services of Reconstruct to provide us with training in:

  • Tier 3 Safeguarding
  • Safer Recruitment
  • Train the Trainer
Through our use of Every we provide our staff with access to the most up to date training course which can be accessed remotely, enabling the training to take place whilst managing the well-being and workload of all colleagues.

We expect all our staff to undertake our mandatory training to maintain safe working practices:

  • Health & Safety Essential Training
  • Fire Awareness in Education
  • GDPR: UK Education
  • Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Training
  • We also offer additional training to staff with specific responsibilities.
